NL SUPPORT and PRIIME Announce Town Hall on Health Research

TPMI and NL SUPPORT Announce Annual Graduate Student Funding Competition

Are you a current, new or prospective graduate student with an interest in applied health research, bioinformatics, computational statistics, change policy analysis, or any of the myriad ways big data can be crunched to produce real-world positive outcomes for patients and users of the healthcare system? Good news! The Translational and Personalized Medicine Initiative (TPMI), in collaboration with the Newfoundland and Labrador SUpport for People and Patient-Oriented Research and Trials Unit (NL SUPPORT), is proud to announce the first annual Educational Funding competition for graduate students!  Funding is available for up to two years for an MSc and three years for a PhD student, beginning Sept. 2015. The value of this award will be to a maximum of $14,000 per year for a MSc student and $18,000 for PhD. Interested? Details, guidelines and application materials are all available here.

Want to Lead a Transformation in Patient-Oriented Research? NL SUPPORT seeks platform leads  from within the local health research community to take on the role of platform leads. Staff associated with each core may be hired at MUN or external agencies, no direct administrative / staff management responsibilities are expected from each lead, but it is expected that a portion of their time will be allocated to SUPPORT activities under the direction of the platform lead. Each core will have budgets allocated for travel, services, materials and miscellaneous expenses.
