The primary mandate of NL SUPPORT is to act as a resource for applied health or health policy research as it pertains to Newfoundland and Labrador. The supports available to researchers are broadly divided into six core functions; although these cores are still under development, the services we expect to be able to deliver once the Unit has reached full maturity are more completely explained here

NL SUPPORT is active in supporting a number of research projects in the jurisdiction with the resources we have available, and we are actively seeking new projects to support. The requirements for support are minimal - the only hard and fast rule is that the research must fall under the mandate of NL SUPPORT, i.e., patient-oriented research that is related to NL. Participation in a SPOR Network or the Translational and Personalized Medicine Initiative (TPMI) is not required, nor is funding. That said, any resources external to NL SUPPORT to which we link you may have additional requirements.
If you have a project or research question for which you would like support, or wish to discuss whether NL SUPPORT can give you a hand, you can fill out our Request for Support Form here, or direct your query to Dale Humphries (dale.humphries@med.mun.ca, ph: 709-864-6277) or Catherine Street (catherine.street@med.mun.ca)
